Mums' Lil Westies of the Ross Family Farm "Every family needs a Westie and a Mums to let you have one."
About Mums Mums, as we all affectionately refer to her, is Joy Schneider Ross, retired schoolteacher, wife of 43 years, mother to three and grandmother to eight. We aren't allowed to discuss age, but she "hasn't sat down since she was in the second grade." When she was a Gifted and Talented Junior High School teacher, it was said of her she was like a beaver, with one dam project after another." Joy and her husband Wendell live on four acres in the foothills of the Ozarks near Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is an avid reader, student of the Bible, professional quilter, accomplished decorator, gourmet cook and bread baker. Her love for dogs goes back to childhood, when Peggy gave birth to huge litters every time estrus rolled around, and Joy's nurturing and teaching instincts took over. She has approached the kennel project with the same vigor. In just a few months she has become very knowledgeable about canine training, grooming and nutrition. The love and affection to Willie, Ollie, Jecca and Katie was present from the start, and has produced an odor free kennel and an unbelievably well organized operation. She has "hired" a medical doctor to be her assistant kennel manager- her husband, Wendell, also known as Paw Paw. Neighbors, friends, passers-by, and curious neighbor dogs and cats drop in often. You are welcome, too. Just call and we will give directions. You must experience Mums - her "joyful smile", unparallelled energy and knowledge about Westies. As a typical teacher, she will share her knowledge with you in a delightful conversational manner. You will want to be put on her waiting list for the next available litter. R.W. Ross, MD

Always walk your Westies on a leash. They are easily distracted. When one finds something of interest they all go for it!
