MEET MY WESTIES!
Mums' Lil Westies  of the Ross Family Farm
"Every family needs a Westie and a Mums to let you have one."
We Raised Westies for Our Enjoyment and For Yours!
This is Mums Lil Prince William
You can be sure he would meet you at the door. Willie
was
My First West Highland White Terrier and he was My
Only Sire! When you have Willie you need no other Sire!
He takes his job seriously. Sometimes we call him,
"Captain", for he is always ready and on guard. He can
sense trouble even when there is none.  He is also a
"wild man" when there is breeding to be done.
Mums
Perspective About Breeding He faithfully brings
everyone in when they go out to play and has taught me
that when he sits, he wants a treat for his labor.  Well,
every worker is due his pay, Right?
He never meets a stranger and insists that they notice
him. Sometimes he is a little over confident about their
wanting to meet him. He has his own little apartment
under our bed where he stores his possessions, like
dirty laundry he has managed to get from my laundry
basket, leftovers from the trash basket, and one shoe
that has been missing from my closet for weeks. See

Pros V
ersus Cons of Owning Westies!
When all the lights are out and he is certain that we are
not going to put him in the laundry room for the night,
he sneaks up on our bed to sleep until 6:00 a.m. (on the
dot). With a few slurpy kisses he reminds us," it is time
to get up and feed the Ladies."  There are
Lots of
Activities you can do with your Westie that help develop
and control his natural instincts.
I register all my puppies with the
AKC, the most
prestigious registry in the world. See what this says
about your dog.
He has the most beautiful full head of white hair, perfect
dark brown almond shaped eyes, small ears edged in
black, solid black paws and nails and all of that must be
a dominant gene because he puts it on all of his
puppies.  He weighs 15 lbs and has a lot of muscle
. AKC
BREED STANDARD He has taught this ole Mums to get
up , get busy and get happy  on days when I thought I
could not move another step.  He gives me so many
laughs and stories to tell that when the day is over, I am
still thinking about his antics. This is why I say,
"Every
Family Needs A a Westie, and a Mums to Let You Have
One", for when you have a Mums Lil Westie, you have a
part of my joy, no pun intended.!
Since I no longer breed Westies, this website is about
and my memories of Willie and how he learned his
lessons from Bitsy, the older Scottie!
"Wee Willie Wisdom", I call it!

Sometimes we don't like how others try to help us" by Mums of  Westie Principles of Life
Westies always do silly things that make you laugh, maybe at the moment it makes you mad or
scared as we were 3 days after we moved into our new, much, much smaller house.  We had fenced
in a large deck for our babies,(you know I mean the Westies and Bitsy) to play and do their
business. It was fenced with really thick lattice work, but as you can guess someone, I won't
mention any names, but her picture is on the left of this story, decided to chew the lattice work
and lead everyone (all 7) on a run around the new territory.  Fortunately for us all, our house is
surrounded by 60 acres of pasture bordered by a busy highway and country road, and they took
the country road as the way of escape.  We just happened to be getting ready for our 43 years
collection of "things" garage sale, so we were up and dressed, when what to our wondering eyes did
appear- no Westies on the deck!  Heading out immediately with treats and leashes in our cars, we
convinced 4 to "go for a ride", lo and behold we could not find the other 3!  Visions of car wrecks,
hurt Westies or worse, we managed to get ourselves together and go the the garage sale.  We had
not been there but 20 minutes or so, when the Animal Control officer called and said he had picked
up Jessie, Bitsy and Willie at Wal-Mart. (Praise the Lord for Name Tags with phone numbers still
attached.)  Willie had gone in the store, he told the officer, he was looking for Mums!!!  Jessie
would not have anything to do with the officer, but a lady driving by in a Mercedes caught her eye
and Jessie jumped right in the car with her.  Bitsy, who thinks the Westies are all stupid, just
stood and looked and thought, "I knew she did not know where she was going!"  Needless to say,
they were rescued for $5 by Mums at the pound.  Not a bad price for such precious merchandise.
Principle: "Sometimes we don't like how others try to help us, but we just have to accept it."
You may download and read a memoir similar to this event, written by Miss Bea Havens aka
Bitsy.  The cost for the download is $5.00, exactly what it cost to rescue our babies.
